A high-quality, properly calculated mix of over 50 seeds, grains, vegetables, herbs, and insects intended for Russian Campbell's dwarf hamsters (RCDs), Djungarian (winter white) dwarf hamsters, hybrid dwarf hamsters, and Chinese dwarf hamsters. Contains no artificial colors, added sugars, fillers, or preservatives!

The "Young" version is intended for hamsters under six months old; the "Adult" version is for hamsters over six months old. Hamsters will eat about 100-300g of food per month, so, if you purchase a larger bag, I highly encourage freezing half of it to prevent staleness/nutritional degradation.

These mixes contain fenugreek, a strong, sweet-smelling seed. If your hamster, their urine, or their cage smells like maple syrup, no need to stress about diabetes: it's probably just the fenugreek!

Feeding Guidelines:

Feed your hamster 5g (about 1 tablespoon) of food every 1-2 days. If your hamster becomes a picky eater, do not give more food until the refused food is gone. If you would like me to create a custom mix without the refused food, don’t hesitate to contact me and we can work something out.

Dried herbs and fresh vegetables should be given on a regular basis. I sell my own herb mixes, but there are other options like Rosewood Nature's Salad that could also work.

Transition:

Contrary to popular belief, there is no need to transition your hamster to a new mix. They are highly-adapted scavengers that are used to quick changes in diet.

NOTE: Not every micronutrient of this mix was calculated, so there is a possibility some nutritional gaps may be present. This is of particular concern for the gourmet (pellet-free) mixes, which do not have a commercial component created by an animal nutritionist. However, due to the balanced nature of the mix and lack of malnutrition reports from the nearly 5 years this mix has been sold, the chances of malnutrition are very low. Still, we encourage owners to exercise caution when feeding homemade mixes and do ample research before selecting a mix.
